Robotics Technician

The robotics technician designs, specifies, installs, sets up, programs and troubleshoots industrial robotic cells in an industrial setting.

Industrial robots perform the same functions as human operators and are utilized for welding, materials handling, loading and unloading of manufacturing equipment, which are performed repetitively, accurately and without fatigue. Often the operations performed are ones which would be unpleasant or hazardous for a human.

The robotics technician designs tooling, fixturing, grippers, and end effectors for use in performing manufacturing operations. The robotics technician sets up required interfaces with other machines and equipment in the robotic work cell and programs the robot to interact with the other machines and equipment in the work cell in order to control the desired sequence of operations and functions.
